Rugby
Football

Any sport that involves contact, speed and external forces on the joints from the surfaces over which you move puts your feet, ankles and knees at risk. Give yourself that competitive edge – protect yourself from rugby and football injuries with our range of bespoke orthoses.

How playing rugby or football can have an impact on the body

Fast changes of movement with the extra grip provided by studded boots can place significant forces on both the foot/ankle complex and the knee joints. These forces can be further increased with poor body biomechanics. In addition to the impact forces from the ground, both sports involve contact which can create external forces being applied to joints that they are not designed to tolerate.

What can we do for you?

Starting from the ground we can use orthotics to align the foot in an optimal position to improve stability whilst on the pitch especially with the rapid acceleration and deceleration.  We also ensure that our devices can be effectively accommodated within good fitting boots realising the space limitations. Moving up to the knee, we can often find damage to structures within the knee such as ligaments, tendons and cartilage.  We can utilise the most appropriate low profile knee orthoses to ensure that you can return to your sport without any unnecessary delay.
