Sports

Whilst feet and ankles are well protected in specialist footwear, spare a thought for unsupported knees, hips and back. They become primary shock absorbers which leaves them prone to injury which can mark an end to snowy pursuits. So get kitted out from our range of bespoke orthotics.

How winter sports can have an impact on the body

The foot/ankle complex is well supported within the boots providing relatively good control, however if you have a poor foot position this can translate into unwanted rotation which acts on the whole mechanics of the body. When looking at the knees, they are not very well protected and the ligaments surrounding the knee joint are subject to very high forces due to the sidewards pressure placed on them when performing turns.

What can we do for you?

We can use orthotics to place the foot in an optimal position for skiing by reducing unwanted rotational forces on the knees.  We can also redistribute pressure on the under surface of the feet to ensure exceptional comfort on the soles of the feet by minimising any high localised forces.
